Envoyr — Privacy Policy

LandersWeb LLC ("we," "us," "our") operates the Envoyr mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use Envoyr. We encourage you to read this policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

Envoyr uses Google and Apple OAuth for authentication — we do not offer username/password sign-up. When you create an account, we receive the following from your OAuth provider:

  • Your name
  • Your email address

We do not receive or store your Google or Apple account password.

1.2 Content You Submit

When you submit Instagram or TikTok video links to Envoyr, we process those videos using artificial intelligence to generate travel recommendations. During this process:

  • We generate a text transcription of the video, which is stored as part of the recommendation data.
  • We download and cache cover images (thumbnails) from the video for up to 30 days. Cover images may be re-downloaded and cached again as needed.
  • We do not store the video file itself. Video content is processed transiently.

The videos you submit must be publicly accessible content — we do not access any content that requires authentication to view.

1.3 Location Data

You may optionally grant Envoyr access to your precise GPS location. This is used solely to display your position on the in-app map. We do not store, log, or transmit your location data to our servers. If you deny location permissions, the App remains fully functional.

1.4 Device Information

We collect limited device information, including your device operating system and version. This data is used exclusively for UI optimization and ensuring compatibility across platforms. We do not engage in device fingerprinting or collect unique device identifiers.

1.5 Usage & Analytics Data

We collect lightweight, anonymous analytics data about how you interact with the App (e.g., feature usage, screen views, session duration). This data is processed through Grafana Cloud and is used to improve the App experience. This data is not tied to your personal identity.

1.6 Crash Reporting

We use Grafana Cloud for crash and error reporting. Crash logs may include technical information about your device state at the time of an error but do not contain personal information.

1.7 Payment Information (Upcoming)

Envoyr will offer paid subscription plans. All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We never receive, access, or store your credit card number, bank account details, or other payment credentials. We store only your payment state (e.g., whether you have an active subscription).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Providing the service: Creating your account, authenticating your sessions, generating AI-powered travel recommendations, and displaying places on a map.
  • Improving the App: Analyzing anonymous usage data and crash reports to fix bugs, optimize performance, and develop new features.
  • Transactional communications: Sending you emails related to your account, such as sign-up confirmations, subscription changes, and important service notices. We do not send marketing or promotional emails.
  • Processing payments: Facilitating subscription purchases through Stripe.
  • Shared lists: Enabling you to create and share recommendation lists with other users, if you choose to do so.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

3.1 AI Processing Providers

Video transcriptions and publicly available video metadata may be sent to third-party AI providers (which may include OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI, among others) for the purpose of generating travel recommendations. No personal account information (such as your name or email) is sent to these providers — only content derived from publicly available videos.

3.2 Service Providers

We use the following service providers who may process data on our behalf:

  • Google / Apple — OAuth authentication
  • Stripe — Payment processing
  • Grafana Cloud — Analytics and crash reporting
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — Cloud infrastructure and hosting

These providers are contractually obligated to use your data only as necessary to provide their services to us.

3.3 Shared Content

If you choose to share a recommendation list, other Envoyr users who access that list may see your display name and the content of the list. You may revoke sharing and make any list private at any time.

3.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of LandersWeb LLC, our users, or the public.

3.5 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via the App or email before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data Retention

  • Account data (name, email): Retained for the duration of your account. Upon account deletion, this data is permanently deleted within 14 days.
  • Transcriptions and recommendation data: Transcriptions, place data, and associated recommendation metadata are retained indefinitely as part of the global recommendation database, even after account deletion. This content is derived from publicly available videos and does not constitute personal data owned by the submitting user.
  • Cover images: Cached for up to 30 days, then deleted. May be re-cached if accessed again.
  • Analytics and crash data: Retained in accordance with Grafana Cloud's data retention policies.
  • Payment state: Retained for the duration of your account and deleted alongside your account data.

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 All Users

You may at any time:

  • Delete your account through the App. Your personal data (name, email, payment state) will be permanently deleted within 14 days. Transcriptions and recommendation data derived from publicly available videos will not be deleted.
  • Revoke list sharing and make any shared list private.
  • Deny location permissions without any loss of core functionality.

5.2 Rights for Users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom

If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including:

  • Right of access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: You may request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Right to erasure: You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to the retention limitations described in Section 4.
  • Right to restriction of processing: You may request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability: You may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object: You may object to our processing of your data.
  • Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Legal basis for processing (GDPR): We process your personal data on the following bases: performance of a contract (providing the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (analytics, improving the App, security), and consent (optional location data).

5.3 California Residents

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

6. Children's Privacy

Envoyr is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. 7. Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, secure cloud hosting on AWS and self-managed infrastructure, and access controls limiting employee access to personal data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

8. International Data Transfers

LandersWeb LLC is based in Oregon, United States. If you access Envoyr from outside the United States (including from the European Economic Area), your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. For EEA users, we rely on standard contractual clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms as appropriate to ensure adequate protection of your data.

9. Third-Party Links and Content

Envoyr processes links to content hosted on third-party platforms (including Instagram and TikTok). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these platforms. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or via email. Your continued use of Envoyr after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
